Aloha! My name is Kekuhi Keali'ikanaka'oleohaililani, the Po'oHawai'i Conference & Oli Fest visionary. Meet my first human chant teacher...my grandma, Edith Kanakaʻole. She taught, "EVERYONE CAN CHANT"!!

I wanted to anchor this Oli Festival in a particular wisdom directly connected to my grandmother. She is the composer of E Hō Mai Ka ʻIke, which is arguably the most frequently chanted mele—according to Kekuhi, of course...in the world.

E Hō Mai Ka ʻIke emphasizes the importance of knowledge and its transmission through traditional Hawaiian practices like hula and oli (chanting). By honoring HER, we honor the chanter in ALL of us!

The Po'oHawai'i Conference & Oli Fest is centered on oli (Hawaiʻi vocal vibration & breath). Oli is a primary technology that uses vibrational expression as a mode of communication. The pursuit of relationships in resonance with our environment can take many forms, which is why PCOF honors multiple ways of knowing and multiple intelligences by offering a VARIETY of ways to learn OLI!

This conference is appropriate for ANYONE interested in learning to connect to place and apply that connection to your personal and professional life.
