What if each one of us could see our ourselves in the other?

In Hawaiʻi lifeways, THAT feeling is called ALO~HĀ

Step into Hawaiʻi lifeways...

Step into HĀLAU ʻŌHIʻA to cultivate connection, express aloha & answer the call of your heart through in nature...

Step into our loving space curated for personal & professional growth...

For me, your professional development in Hawaiʻi lifeways IS A personal matter

After struggling for decades in the center of a constant battle between Hawaiʻi life ways, science (all fields of), unaccountable development & academia...I knew if I didnʻt change some-thing, I would walk away from EVERYTHING!

What started as a way to bring incongruent energies into some sort of homeo-dynamics, has turned into an approach, a space that has helped hundreds of my members settle into:

🌿BELONGING-NESS

🌿grounding into ʻOHANA

🌿RELEVANCE

🌿RESILIENCE

🌿an authentic sense of ALO~HĀ

...so that they can show up for themselves & Honua like never before.

This space is HĀLAU ʻŌHIʻA

Hālau ʻŌhiʻa helped us welcome coral reef biologists and managers from all across the US and Pacific to Kailua-Kona in late summer 2022. They facilitated a fulfilling, engaged, and grounding program for a week's worth of events with the U.S. Coral Reef Task Force. The event was an enormous success, such that many of the folks who have been attending these meetings for two decades remarked that the meeting was the best they can recall, and this was entirely in thanks to the genuine dedication and love for Hawaiʻi that Hālau ʻŌhiʻa created with our 150+ members. You are in great hands when you're working with this group, and if you trust yourself to their process and give it your 100%, the results will be better than you can possibly imagine.

I was humbled and honored to be part of a cohort with Hālau ʻŌhiʻa.  As a resource manager, Hālau ʻŌhiʻa is a priceless resource for our resources.  It is a transformational process that when applied reconnected managers to the places, resources, and people that we engage with.  I have experienced my colleagues in our state government agency who were in the class, incorporate these concepts into government rule making processes, education and outreach, and engagement processes with communities and fishers.  Learning by listening and allowing folks space to build a relationship with the resources themselves as if they were plant people, fish people, limu people, soil people, rock people.  This methodology is applicable to anyone in any agency who is open to learning and applying...
And I think a big part of the comfort is you and your style of teaching and engaging.
Mahalo for this opportunity to share all the great growths from Hālau ʻŌhiʻa.

I can’t begin to express the deep transformation that occurred in every aspect of my life

Kekuhi answered my kahea for kōkua with this project and with her blessing and support, magical things can happen….and magical things did happen!...Thank you for birthing the ka‘ao and now helping to mālama this movement!  I am so grateful to be a student of the simply elegant, yet fractal-like nature of the ki‘i framework, the ka‘ao process, and the personal, familial, community and professional growth they fuel.  I am so grateful to know you all...Seeing and hearing the ka‘ao come to life through animation and music brought on layers upon layers of chicken skin. Unreal...

I knew from the beginning that once Kekuhi answered the kahea;...Our lives are richer because of this and now 3000 keiki (and by extension their ‘ohana) have also been touched. Because that’s what Kekuhi and Hālau Ōhi‘a models and teaches us all. To give our very best, which you all have done. Because that’s how she does it, that’s how the Hālau does it.  Simple.
