Kekuhi Kealiʻikanakaʻole
For much of my youth I felt like I didn't belong, socially. I realized, through my grandmother, that I belonged to the ocean who gave us fish, belonged to the forest who gave my hula life, and belonged to the island who gave my family a home... and thus was born the tree-hugger in me. I am Kekuhi Kanahele Keali'ikanaka'ole and I am in love with my island and my ancestral connections on Maui, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu and Wales. My personality is made up of at least 2 dozen identities like: mom, daughter, grandma, wife, leader, performing/recording artist, kumu hula, creator, business owner, educator, and on and on. My favorite areas of study are Pele-ecology and human potential. The activities that regenerate me are hiking, camping, travel, meeting new plant friends, and I catch my jollies smelling and tasting trees, dirt and rocks.
